Submit a letter to the editor

Letters from Salt Lake Tribune readers are printed in the Public Forum in the Opinion section of the newspaper and online.

Email letters@sltrib.com. Letter to the Editor may also be mailed to:

Public Forum, The Salt Lake Tribune

90 S. 400 West, Suite 600

Salt Lake City, 84101

Letters must include the signature, full name, address, phone number and email address (if available) of the author for verification purposes. Only the name and city will be published. Letters should be no longer than 300 words. Concise letters developing a single theme are more likely to be published. For printed submissions, please type and double space throughout. Letters are condensed and edited. Because of the volume of mail received, not all submissions are published. Our policy is to accept only one letter per person in any 45-day period.

Submit a commentary for the editorial page

The Salt Lake Tribune encourages Utahns to submit their own commentaries for publication in the Opinion section.

Commentaries should be offered exclusively to The Tribune and address timely topics of general interest. Written submissions should not exceed 850 words. In some cases, commentaries may be submitted in alternative formats. Contact the voices editor to discuss your idea further.

All submissions must include in-line links to all quotes and facts used. Please disclose any potential conflicts of interest in the topic of your submission. Priority is given to Utah-related topics and Utah contributors. Contributors should include a recent photograph and a sentence or two of biographical information that includes any experience or expertise in the subject matter addressed. Our policy is to accept only one commentary per person in any 45-day period.

Submit your commentary to Sara Weber, voices editor, at sweber@sltrib.com. Sending text in the body of an email is preferred, as attachments do not always arrive in a usable form.
