Former BYU golfer Zac Blair ties for second in Travelers Championship

Blair finished the event 20-under par as he looks to retain his PGA Tour card.

Former BYU golfer Zac Blair made a hard charge on the final day of the Travelers Championship, shooting an 8-under 62 to finish in a tie for second place.

Keegan Bradley (-23) won the tournament, while Blair (-20) tied for second with Brian Harman.

Blair shot rounds of 65, 65, 68 and 62.

The 32-year-old Blair is 16 starts into a major medical exemption after undergoing shoulder surgery in November 2020. He entered this week’s competition in Cromwell, Conn., needing about 270 points to retain his full PGA Tour card. His tie for second at the Travelers netted him 245 points to go along with $1.7 million in winnings.

Blair, an Ogden native who prepped at Fremont High, played at BYU from 2009-13. He was the West Coast Conference Men’s Co-Player of the Year in 2013.
